Hornsby’s Amber Hard Cider is a medium bodied cider, with a golden amber hue and notes of green apple on the noes. The taste has ripe fruit notes throughout with a full apple flavor. The finish is balanced and smooth with a tart dryness.

12 ounce bottle from a Kroger. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy head that lasts a while for a cider. Aroma of sweet, artificial apples. The taste is tart apples. A bit grainy. Thin bodied. Meh.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Looks like apple juice. Smells and tastes like apple. Sweet and a little tart. It’s a cider. While there is nothing really special here, it’s drinkable and fits the fall season pretty well.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a quickly dissipating white head that leaves a ring. Aroma is ripe apples (what else? I’m still new to cider rating, so I don’t even know what else to expect here). Taste is sweet and tart. Has a somewhat unpleasant sulfury aftertaste. Carbonation is fairly soft (don’t know if that’s normal). Has a real thin body. Seems pretty mediocre.

Throw in from New Beer. Tulip glass. Extra cold, as directed. Baaaahh. First cider I’ve had that indicated "dextrose" as one of the main ingredients. Clear, glistening, pale gold color. Faint wisp of lace. Smell is a perfect mimic of apple sauce. ...And so is the taste. This taste like Mott’s & nothing more/less. Backsweetener & natural/artificial flavors contribute to make it pretty much spot on. Slightly tart, light caramel, red juicy American eating apples. Even a bit of irritation from those pesticides. Sulfites are barely heard from. 5.5% alcohol, really? Sparse carbonation. Slightly too thick & high calorie to actually replace apple juice. A so-so start on a marinade, or getting the babysitter drunk is about all I see useful for this stuff.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear extremely pale yellow with small white head around the top edge of the glass. Aroma is beautiful apple, no lacing, low carbonation. Taste is sweet crisp apple, simple and good.

Pours with a ultra pale, fizzy, yellow, filtered body from the clear bottle (that mentions that it is less than 1% actual apple)... Aroma of baked apple, sugar...tons and tons of sugar, artificial sweetener, citrus zest, play-doh, gelatin and plastic. Taste is sickly sweet with plastic, sweetener, cardboard, fake apples and more plastic. Fizzy and dry. I love ciders, but hate this fake apple soda crap!

12 oz. bottle. Oh, what am I supposed to think of a cider mixed with carbonated water with sugar added. A thin line between this and Zima. Pale yellow with a few bubbles in the glass. Smells like overly sweetened apple juice. Tastes like a wine spritzer with apple flavor. Cloyingly sweet, just a touch of alcohol to give a welcome buzz and decide to wash out you palate with a regular beer.

Apple aroma, not unlike the amber cider from Hornsby’s. Clear golden color, with nice streams of carbonation. Good balance and body, nothing off putting. Fairly ordinary. Reminds me of Apple Slice soda. Rumor had it that it was discontinued by Pepsi because it was fermenting in the soda machines.A google search shows that it is still available in certain parts of the US. I haven’t seen it in nearly 20 years. I remember having one that had indeed partially fermented and it tasted like this. If you’re jonesing for the old Apple Slice, give this a try.

12 oz. bottle. Flowery apple aroma. Light gold color with a white head that went fast. A bit thin. Light carbonation. Starts with sweet green apple. Moves on to a "crisp", slightly tart apple. There is sweetness in the finish, and the mouth is left clean. It’s surprisingly good.

12oz Bottle Pours out a clear light gold topped with a white head. A nice aroma of apple. A little tart not bad for a cider.
