Not a very good beer. Light vegetable aroma. Tomatoes and oregano in the flavor. Light red. Minimal yeast, dry, boring, and not very good.

Bruegs Zot, Saranac Belgian and Leffe Blonde; these are the only beers I’ve tasted in the Belgian ale family. I must say, from these three I would say save your money and buy pale american lager. Mostly the flavor is the same as high personality pale lagers but the big difference is in the color of the beers. …..Well, here is another, Celis Pale Bock. I find Celis to be about average for the styles they make. They are better than Matts Saranac but usually there brews are just another entry in the ubiquitous available styles. 12 oz brown bottle. Pop the top to reveal a hint of sweetness or perfume in the background of a yeasty beery aroma. Pour is clear and the color is brownish orange yellow (130000). At least on the label it comes right out and tells you what it is. I don’t like it when I buy a beer expecting one thing only to find out it is actually some other style. Is a bit hoppy on the tongue during my first sip, has some personality going there. Nice carbonation that attracts my senses. Random medium sized bubble are rising from within this darkish brew. On the front of the bottle is a couple of drawings that look like the state of texas. Also on the label is an old time drawing of people making something inside a couple of large wooden slat vats. Perhaps there is a slight hint of roastyness in the taste. Carbonation hangs in there even to the bottom of the glass. The finish is OK but not exceptionally smooth. Has some lingering bitterness that fades after a few moments. Overall, this is worth a try if you haven’t tasted one yet, but probably would not buy again.
