Bottle. Very similar to the hazelnut longshot from ’96. Loved that one and love this one. Wish I could buy this in a six pack. Deep brown color. Yes, it had a slight hazelnut aroma but had better hazelnut taste. Love it.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown body that leaves a half finger white foamy head that lasts for a good minute. Some foamy rings are left in the lace.
The smell had nuts, malts, and light toffee.
The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added in some light chocolate.
The palate sat about medium on the body with nothing harsh on the tongue. It is very drinkable.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer that I had no problem drinking the rest.

12 oz bottle from winter sampler pack. Poured a thin brown into the pint glass, overwhelming aroma of roasted hazelnuts. You better like that taste if your going to try this one. Nice caramel malt smoothness combines with the richness of the hazelnut and makes an enjoyable beer but not a session ale, the flavor becomes cloying and too sweet for having more than one or two.

Rich deep brown coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall tan head and a nice copper glow at the bottom. Aroma of coffee, nuts, earth, malt, pistachios, hazelnuts and a lot of nutty depth - very nice. Medium-bodied; Slight coffee flavours up front with a rather large bitterness, but the caramel and earthy malts follow behind with a super strong hazelnut flavour that persists. Aftertaste shows quite the depth with the malt and nuts really coming through, a little bit of sugar and some minor bitterness at the end. Overall, a great nut brown with an amazing hazelnut flavour throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from a sampler case, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City) on 20-October-2013 for US$25.99/24 pack, sampled at home a few steps away from Costco on 15-December-2013.

Bottle: Pours a light chestnut color with a mountain of fluffy beige head. Good retention and thick lacing. Nose is exactly what you’d expect from fresh hazelnut coffee… good roast, lightly, nutty, and some milk chocolate. Flavor is roast forward with the coffee trailing slightly. Gets a little metallic in the end. A little floral component keeps away that soapy/bitter finish that detracts from the style. I think I’d enjoy this more without the hazelnut, but pretty good stuff nonetheless.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby-brown color with a medium sized foamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sour nut, a strong vegetal presence and a hint of dark fruits. The flavor was definite hazelnut with toffee, sour caramel, a hint of vegetal malts and cocoa. Long finish of hazelnut and cocoa. Medium body though somewhat undercarbonated. Ok.

Mild hazelnut aroma. Good hazelnut taste though.
