Draught. A hint of caramel. I actuallly always thought this was more of a vienna. OK.

From old tasting notes. Lovely honey gold color. Thick creamy white head has great clinging lace. Fragrant hoppy nose. Tasty bittersweet malt flavor that finishes dry and hoppy.

Location: Draft at the The Berghoff, 6/2/14

Aroma: The nose of this one is light, lager malts and yeast
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color without much head or lace to it
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, light, thin, and okay, just not much here
Palate: The body is light and a little thin, there just isn't too much going on here
Overall Impression: Totally unoffensive beer, and I mean that as neither a compliment or an insult. There just isn't anything good or bad about. Totally forgettable.

@ORD. Golden and bright with a gentle sparkle and a thin head. Lightly malty and vaguely appley aroma. Moderately malty palate - almost all pale malts. There is a noticeable light bitterness around 20IBUs, but not really any hop character besides that

12oz bottle from Woodman’s poured into a Shaker. Labeled as "Prairie Lager Beer". Pours a pale yellow with a small bit of fizzy white head. Smells lightly of hops and a decent amount of rotting barnyard skunk. Taste is lightly sweet and lightly sour on the aftertaste. Actually has a decent, if very light, hop flavor. I think this one may be the best of any from the Berghoff family I’ve had yet. It doesn’t have that artificial sugar taste the other ones have. Medium bodied with a sticky and oily texture. Lively carbonation and not much to speak of in way of finish. Overall, its not too bad. Nothing I would buy again but I’ll at least finish this one off.

12 ounce bottle under the Prairie Lager label from a sampler. Pours clear amber with a thin white fizzy head that quickly fades. Aroma of green banana and toasted malts. The taste is intensely sweet, sugar malts, some apple, toastiness, very faint hops. Almost cloyingly sweet. Thin bodied.

Bottled. Clear yellow color, big white head, quite some carbonation. Aroma of grain, corn, malt. Reasonable bitter, corn, malt. Ok pale lager.

12oz bottle labeled Prairie Lager. Clear pale yellow color. Pungently sweet, off aroma. Adjuncty, sweet body. This is really a crappy beer line, or they have a poor bottling system, or both. It was almost tolerable when ice cold, but when it warms the off flavors really shine.
