Bottle shared thanks to Thijs. Black with small tan head. Massive peat smoke, chocolate, soft blackberries, sweet fudge, iodine. Maaaassssive peat. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied. It's really peat but it works with the base beer.

One of a concise series of barrel aged Beluga variants by one of Holland's top craft brewers, bottle at Ganzerik in Ghent. Mocha-beige, medium thick, slowly opening but generally stable head on a black beer with thin burgundy edges. Aroma heavily dominated by moist peat in the 'uncut', iodine-like form, next to black coffee, smoking pipe tobacco, bitter black chocolate, whisky, bladderwort, Belgian 'pralines', toffee and bayleaf. Dense, sweet onset, candied dates and a hint of blackberry jam, softish carb, very full and oily, viscous body; deep dark-chocolatey, pecan-nutty and hazelnutty malt profile, deliciously bittersweet and rich, heated by very whisky-like alcohol, pushing that strong peated effect upwards retronasally, while peppery hops, woodiness and coffeeish roasted bitterness join in, all connecting beautifully with that dark-chocolatey malt core. Very intensely peated so obviously not one for everybody, but a clear example of how solid an imperial stout Beluga really is - one of Holland's underestimated beers, if you ask me. Not an accessible one, you either love or hate peat I guess, but for me this is a true adventure in taste and I absolutely adore it.

Pours a black colour and a light brown head with a small layer retention. Aroma's: full on iodine and peat, but also some dark syrup. Retronasal it's peat, iodine, sweet, roasted. Flavour is above moderate sweet, roasted, a bit fruity sour. Medium bodied, firm carbonation. Long finish with peat, roast and light moderate bitterness. Excellent, reminiscent of the peaty BA stouts from De Molen and Emelisse from times long gone.

Van Drinks&Gifts. Zwart, beige-bruine kraag. Flink geturfd aroma, leer, rook, zoete whisky, zoethout, geroosterde mout. Smaak is ook flink peated, iets van inkt, pruimen, dadels, eikenhout, leer, flink geroosterde smaken, echt topspul. Volle body, smooth. Hopelijk zijn de andere uit de serie net zo goed.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of strong meaty peat, smoke, chocolate, licorice, tarr, coffee and roasted malt. Taste has heavy savory peat, strong smoke, bitter roasted malt, coffee, licorice and dark chocolate. Heavy stuff, really like how the strong islay scotch combines with the thick base beer. Delicious.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, strong peat, smoke. Taste: Dark roasted malt, mocha, strong smoke and peat, some ash. Bit boozy. Moderate to medium sweetness and bitterness. Full body, soft carbonation. Smooth and dense, earthy mouthfeel. Long lasting peaty and smoky finish. Sticky. Very nice, although the barrel is definitely overwhelming the base beer more than the other Beluga BA variants I've had so far.

Black with a small beige head. Aroma of big peaty oaky scotch barrel overwhelming notes of chocolate, overripe dark fruits, roast and toffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. This barrel really didn’t do the beer any favors.

Bottle 0.33l shared with kermis. Thanks 10.12.2019. Pour it dark color with small white head. Aroma peated, smokey too much for my taste. Taste peated, not good barre, too much peated weird for my taste honestly.
