Paying homage to a rather (in)famous surf spot/clothing-optional beach in San Diego, Nelson the Greeter is the newest hoppy offering from Port Brewing. Using the brash flavors of Nelson hops to lead the charge, the Greeter has a strong hop supporting cast using Denali, Lemon Drop, and Mosaic varietals to round out this India Pale Ale.
Notes of gooseberry and passionfruit dominate the nose with clean tangerine and freshly cut stone fruit notes leading to a smooth bitter citrus finish.
HOPS: Nelson, Denali, Lemon Drop, Mosaic

Golden with a white head - Citrus and herbal hop aroma - Malt body to support a good hop flavour that has citrus and herbal bitterness - The citrus and piney bitterness goes into the finish - This was good

Can, 0.473l. Aroma is grainy, floral, mild tropical fruity and herbal. Pours cloudy golden color with medium sized soapy off-white, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet grainy and resinous, following is herbal, vinous and yeasty, mouthfeel is smooth, mild spicy and dry, while finish is heavy grassy biter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Potent IPA...

Canned. From Boxbeers. Poured golden color. Thin white head. Resiny hops, citrus, malts, light petrol notes that faded away after a while. Flavor has grapefruit, grass, hops and citrus. Bitter finish. Not the freshest but quite enjoyable still.

Witte druiven op een typische USA koekjes moutbasis. Stuk beter dan die juicy shit van tegenwoordig. Jammer dat het niet mijn favo hop is

Pint can pours with a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy dank onion blended into citrus hoppiness. The taste delivers bitter grapefruit and clementine like citrus hoppiness as well as some nice spicy bitter onion dankness. Another sip reveals some mild lime and citrus peel notes. Really nice IPA.

500ml can, thanks Mike. Pours golden, fizzy and with some white foam. Nose is fresh, resiny hops, little bit tropical although also pretty dry. Taste brings out these vibrant hops, medium body and good carbonation. Herbal-resiny hop character, fresh and definitely enjoyable. Good thing to have if you want to drink some proper IPA's.
