(Bottle) Pours black with big loose brown head. Good aroma with roasted grains, chocolate and raisin notes. Good mouthfeel too. Medium to full body, with some stickiness and fine prickly carbonation. There’s a nice dark roast grain / dark chocolate taste that gives both richness and bitterness. There’s a good balance of sweet and bitter. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted grains with a bit of black currant and burnt sugar. Taste is mildly bitter with a tartness lingering at the finish. A bit of yeasty sweetness and spice underneath. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, slight warmth. Goes down more like a heavy Belgian Dubbel than a stout. Not bad.

deep dark brown colour, medium sized creamy beige head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of plum jam, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, some dried sour cherry, licorice and hints of coffee; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with some cinnamon; great one!

Bottle. Dark brown black pour. Aroma of chocolate malt, licorice, caramel, dates and raisin. Taste has chocolate malt, raisin, dates, caramelised malt, figs, a little vanilla and subtle smoke. Nice beer, although I would call this a dubbel instead of a stout.

F: medium, tanned, quickly diminishing. C: black, opaque. A: dark malts, grapefruits, tropical fruits, pine, spicy, roasted tones. T: dark malts, not so hoppy as I expected from aroma, spicy, light warming alcohol, chocolate, cocoa, vinous, medium to full body, lower carbonation, enjoyed yet I expected bit more complexity here, 33cl bottle from Tom Beers shop in Geneva.

Thanks for sharing Kraddel + tderoeck +Friends. Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017. Black, tanned head. Nose is liquorice, dark spices & low chocolate. Massive liquorice thick in the taste, all black licoricey, heavy spice maybe bay leaf, clove. Thick but black liquorice dominates everything but interesting no infection or anything weird in this one. Still I am not into black liquorice.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque brown to black with a thin crema head. Nose - molasses, black jack sweets and candied sugar. Taste - blackcurrant and more molasses. Blackcurrant menthol om the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - a lovely complex beer.
