Brewed in collaboration with Devil's Peak.
Probably better known for its wine and wildlife, Cape Town has some inspired modern breweries with Devil’s Peak leading the charge. Gooseberry, lactose and fresh vanilla pods create a beer that is lightly sour with sweet notes from the vanilla, fruity tartness from the gooseberry, and hoppy notes from plentiful amounts of Citra hop. In the famous words of Toto, hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you

Refreshing zesty aroma, with tart berry fruit predominant - pours a cloudyish pale gold with a small white head, instant hit of tart fruit on the tongue, mild carbonation yielding a crisp mouthfeel, maybe a hint of vanilla in there but not overly discernible to this naive palate, the gooseberry sourness is the big hit, with some citrus bitterness joining in

Rocky off white head left a blotchy cover on a murky dark amber coloured still body. Bitter, vinous citrus aroma. Medium bodied, thicket on the front thinning out to leave s sharp back & cloying aft. Gooseberry, under ripe berry, citrus, vinous, sour & vanilla tastes with a salty tart finish. Refreshing..

440ml can. Poured a hazy light golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeasty, fresh zesty citrus, gooseberries. The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a light crisp, fresh, light tart juicy gooseberry, mineral, light vanilla palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation. Very fresh and drinkable. The vanilla was a nice touch that softened the sourness.

Smooth mild beginning. Fruity sessionable with a moderate but light sourness. Easy to drink, fruity grainy with a subtle sourness. Not too intense.

Can from Tesco Supermarket, Borehamwood. Golden-amber with next to no head and a small carbonation. Denser tasting sour with its noticeable vanilla and tangy berry notes accounting for this, it's not too sour as a result. It's hoppy too, especially in its nose where a sweetness also exists.
