We are Dugges Bryggeri. We love making beer. This is our Pils. A straight forward, no fuss, simple yet complex Pils. A no nonsense though all sense Pils. A clean, crisp and dry Pils. Did we say Pils? Pils!

There’s something about Lagers. It’s by far the most sold beer style in the world. There are too many varieties to count. And, everyone has an opinion about them. Whether it’s ’I don’t like beer’ meaning ’I don’t like Lagers’ or it’s ’That does not taste like beer’ meaning ’Beer should taste like Lagers’ or just knowing what brand or what Lager style you like among all those styles. We’ve done quite a few Lagers here at Dugges. As the general population, everyone here has their different goto style. So, we’ve catered to many tastes. For this one we just wanted to keep it really crisp, really clean, and really dry. We wanted to, as you say, keep it simple. We wanted to just, with all the hard work that entails, make a Pils. So, that’s what we did.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Golden, creamy soapy white head. Nose is low corn, starch, doughy, vegetable,… Luckily way less vegetable in taste, doughy, malty, bit empty but fair doughy, white bread malt, low herbal,… Okay.

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Lager yeast aroma. Tastes pretty fresh. Some lemon and peach flavour. Some bitterness on the finish. Yes a decent fresh pils. Some noble hop character. More peachy.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours totally clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Nice crispy biscuit aroma, with notes of grass and hay as well. Light sweet flavour with some subtly doughy biscuits, grassy bitterness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Grassy finish, fairly crisp, with some husky pale grains, crackers, bread, straw. Nice, pretty crisp lager.

330 ml bottle from Beergium, bb 18-07-2018.
Straw colored, slight hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of grains, flowers, grass, fresh herbs, bread, citrus, some honey.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, medium dry, herbal, floral, grassy, grainy, a bit citric.

Very nice. Crisp and balanced throughout, with lovely grainy and herbal notes, a good dryness towards the finish and just enough malt body. Drinks very fresh and clean indeed. Lovely, traditional Pils.
