There’s no better way to test your patience than barrel aging. Months go by, but you still want more of the boozy, woody goodness into your beer.
As much as you would want to just forget about it, you find yourself dreaming about cracks and leaks, rushing to check your precious casks every morning.
It’s truly Never Over.

330ml can. Black with a small dark tan head. Aroma is extremely peaty, leather, smokey tobacco, iodine, plasters (bandaids for American readers). Taste is dominated by the peaty whisky barrel, leather, tobacco, iodine, the roast malts and dark chocolate of the base beer are in the background, warming and boozy. Full bodied, thick, smooth. Used to hate such peaty whisky but this is an incredible stout, the flavour profile has really grown on me.

Pitch black, creamy dark espresso head. The aroma is band aid galore (!), medicinal, burnout tyres, alcohol and thick deep roast malts coming through - love it or hate it! As it aerates a bit and the drinker gets used to it, those are gradually replaced with tobacco, leather, iodine. The taste is pretty much the same - the base beer (which seems very solid) is barely coming through the Scotch barrel's peaty, band-aid laden, hot and boozy footprints. Thick inky body, great balancing heat and spice. As for the Scotch Barrel - like I said - love it or hate it. Love it - 4,3/5.

Pitch black pour with a tall, fine-grained tan head that gives way to a velvety lacing. Heavy peat and smoke up front, followed by dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans, whiskey, a bit of wood, bitter cherries. Not bad!
