Black Currant is a sour beer fermented with black currants. To give the beer its sour taste we add Lactobacillus to the mix. A beer within the New Nordic Beer project, brewed with only Nordic ingredients.

There isn't much of a story behind this beer. The beer kinda made itself. Before making it, we we're already working within the New Nordic Beer project and had already made a New Nordic Sour, so giving it that extra oomph by adding Swedish Black Currants was a given. At first it wasn't organic but when we came across organic berries, naturally we made it so.

Can from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Aroma is tart berries, blackcurrant, lactic fruit yoghurt. Flavour is tart and moderate to medium sour. Light to medium body. Nice blackcurrant aroma, lactic sourness.

11.2 ounce bottle from Vintage Estate, 10/15/22. Hazy purple, thin purplewhite head, poor retention. Arom of sweet currant, grape jelly. Taste is currant, lemon, vegetal notes, pepper. Moderate tartness. Thick, jammy. Okay.

Arbitrary 4/5 for appearance, due to insufficient lighting. Berries/red fruit, not necessarily blackcurrant - if quite plausible. Bit of buttermilk. More obvious blackcurrant in the flavour, also blackcurrant leaf. Perfumed, aromatic, yet dry-sour character. Ultra dry, light body. Agreable fruitbeer.

Bottle shared, dark purpleish beer, small head. Aroma is black currant, fruit, tart. Taste is the same, fruity, berries, black currant, sour. Nice one
