Our interpretation of an Extra Special Bitter carries light bitterness and a gentle earthy noble hop character from Fuggles hops. The hops are balanced by an airy fruitiness and a rich base of flavors evoking caramel malts, brown sugar, and hazelnut. It is a wonderful and simple beer we find best paired with fish and chips, smoked meat, roasted chicken or, ideally, a day on the river.

Can. Faintly cloudy reddish amber with very small frothy whitish head, medium carbonation, mildly bitter malty taste, thin body, medium finish. Not as bitter as expected of an ESB.

I needed another ESB for my collection so when this showed up in trade quite happy thanks Chalumeaux. Ruby brown flattish pour. Nose is brown sugar and red fruit. Tastes of burnt toast, brown sugar, light herbs, antique shop, berry. Low carbonation hint of sweetness. Had for game 5 of World Series go Sox!

Pours murky amber into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Bread and caramel aromas. Soft with caramel and toffee upfront turning to earthy plastic in the medium length finish.

Thanks! Can sampled @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Dark brown. Leaves, dark bread herbal, bark, caramel, burned sugar, grain, interesting with a herbal, spices, dark bread focus, caramel base, interesting beer but far bread-ier & herbal than a classical UK beer in my opinion. Not bad. Interesting & different from what I am used from Tree House.

Can: Poured a clear dark brown color ale with a large off-white/light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry caramelized malt with nice light earthy floral hops aroma. Taste is a mix of dry caramelized malt notes with some earthy floral hops notes and a dry aftertaste. Body si about average for style with good carbonation. Simple yet very enjoyable. Nice to see TH brewing something else then a hop-forward beer.

16oz can from the one know as Smith. Attractive unfiltered copper-brown body. Big malt tones, caramel and amber, maybe some European malts as well. A pretty decent example of the style, but not exactly World Class stuff. Could use better hop balance and better attenuation.

Can at hotel room in Worcester. Canned 07/02/2018... yesterday! Color is slightly cloudy brown with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Nuts, toffee, fruits, some chocolate and malts. Lots of toffee, very fresh but lacks malty backbone to be a really good bitter.
