A decadent stout based on a Brooklyn Blackout chocolate cake recipe. This beer is full of deep and smooth chocolate flavours from a variety of dark malts & oats which is accentuated with the addition of cacao nibs & cocoa powder. Lactose is then added to provide sweetness, to create this rich & luxurious chocolate cake stout.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Tewkesbury Winter Beer Festival, 1/2/2019. Near black brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Sweet chocolate, some dark fruits and toasty malts before a gentle finish. Fine.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. dark brown, opaque, with a creamy beige head. Chocolate malt, some cherries, a touch of metal in the aroma. Taste... whoa, I don't think I was expecting that. Fruity and sweet, with a herbal/vegetal note and a load of cherry in the aftertaste. Oily body, soft carbonation. I'm getting more Black Forest gâteau than Brooklyn Blackout but I'll let it slide. A bit weird at first but I warm to it.
