Our 4th Collaboration with Deftones is a smooth and juicy New England-Style IPA. Being as big of fans of the style as we are, the band was looking for something loaded with citrus notes for the summer. We powered-up this 8-bit hazy brew with nelson, galaxy, mosaic and citra, then added simcoe cryo hops for that extra hop bob-omb!

473 ml can. Pours an opaque dark orange with light head. Aromas of pithy orange with a bit of mashed tropical fruit and toasted malts. Flavors of dry oranges, bitter pineapple and biscuity malts. Can is a year old... So it's an old Hazy. I wish breweries would clearly mark the style. In this case the label says India Pale Ale in bold and in very tiny font, not easily read in the store indicates New England Style. Points deducted...

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-yellow with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of biscuity pale malt, grapefruit, orange, lemon, peach and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of crackery pale malt, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon rind, mango, pineapple and earthy yeast in a dry, bitter, piney hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Delicious.

Fluffy white head left a rocky cover on a turbid milkshake coloured still body. Bitter hops, lactose, melon & confectionery aroma. Medium bodied, creamy on the tongue with a sharp back & soft feel down the throat. Sweet citrus, melon, mango, Tropical fruits & fruit smoothie tastes with a bitter hoppy & grapefruit finish.

From a 473ml can on 14/10/2019. Pours a hazy light golden with little head. The nose features light but sharp fruit and spice. Tastes quite tropical, with pineapple to the fore. The bitterness is quite sharp with a some citrus zest coating the back of the tongue. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Just okay.

Sample at Taphouse Grill in Seattle. Cloudy golden color with a medium thick white head that recedes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Herbal hops, tropical fruit and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

473ml can. Pours hazy pale golden with a small white head, great retention, idyllic looking NEIPA. Aroma of juicy tropical and citrus fruits, mango, papaya, grapefruit. Taste is juicy, fruity, orange, mango, grapefruit, peach, these all seem very overripe and a bit too sweet though. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Not bad but a little disappointed by this. Also no canned on date or BBD to be seen. Seriously poor form in this day and age, this could have been really old for all I know, and probably was.

500ml can from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a milky pale yellow, white topping. Good citrus fruit dominating the nose. Fairly light bodied with fresh, vibrant fruity citrus dominating, rounded off nicely with a good solid bitterness. Excellent hugely drinkable NEIPA.
