Made in the heart of Bavaria using natural mineral water and locally grown barley and hops, our new Hofmeister Helles Lager is slow-brewed colder and longer than most other beers today. That’s because we believe all the extra time and effort is well worth it. And when you try our fresher, subtly hoppy and gently carbonated Helles, we think you will too.

3/6/2018. Bottle from Four Hops, Reigate. Pours bright gold with a short lasting white head. Aroma of hop, grass, fruit, straw and malt. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Quite a decent Helles.

Fluffy white head o0 a dark straw coloured body. Medium bodied,. Thick & cloying on the palate but clean on the back. Lemon malt & yeast tastes. Better than the original.

20th Nov 2017. Shrewsbury Beer Share Group Meeting in Chez Sophie. I found this 330ml bottle (BB 30 Nov 2017) in my local B&M Bargain store. It was the last one on the shelf, so I grabbed it to share with friends (I think we are still friends). Actually it wasn't as bad as I anticipated and as I was the only one who had tried the 'original Hofmeister' because of my age, I had to pontificate about how poor that was. This poured a clean and clear bright golden colour and had a fast fading white crown. Not a lot of aroma or flavour, but nothing offensive either. Slight lemony twist to the semi-sweetness of the brew, gave it a refreshing feel.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 17, courtesy of Jeremy! Many thanks. Pours clear gold, small white head. Aroma of moderately sweet malt, noble hops. Taste continues, clean with a noticeable sweet presence. Nice enough.

Likeable lemon. Well made. Tastes as it should. Wow. So much better than the 1980s version .decent bready lemon helles. Some bitterness even on the finish .good.
