Pale yellow pour with a small white head that dissapears quickly. Taste is pears, pear compote, a hint of vinegar. Taste is quite similar, well-rounded, not overly sweet. Not bad.

500ml bottle from Waitrose, Peterborough. Vintage 2020. Sparkling, pale yellow gold colour, fizzy white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of pear, fruity, woody, with a sulphury hint. Taste is sweet, pear, sugary and fruity, fleshy, tangy, with rough alcohol notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet slightly cloying boozy finish. OK

Bottle at home from Waitrose Canary Wharf. A pale petrol coloured pour with some effervescence. roma is tangy woody pear, some bile, spritzy fruit. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody pear, bark, harsh solvent alcohol, bitter bark finish. Headache inducing alcohol. It tastes stronger than 8%. Palate is semi sweet, tangy, highish carbonation. Harsh solvent alcohol.

Bottle from the Waitrose on Gloucester Road. 2014 Vintage. Pours light perry color. Aroma is very, very light pear. Med minus body. Flavor seems more apple skin than pear. It’s quite bland. It is drinkable.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell. 2014 Vintage A pale colour with light carbonation; soft pear aroma with a trace of honey; the taste is a blend of apples and pears; and the finish is smooth and dry. An easy drinking perry.

500ml bottle from Tesco. Pours clear gold with a dusty fruit orchard aroma. Ripened apple and perry pear taste. On the sweet side but quite clean and balanced. Not too much going on really but still rather pleasant and strong-tasting to have on a summery evening in the park.
