Do you add elderflower to this beer?
Croatian beer market used to be dominated by industrial lager-type beers, and some folks eagerly waited for hoppy nectar to finally enter the scene. Two guys managed to fix all the paperwork for opening their brewery and then launched a gipsy brewery in a rented facility of Kahli microbrewery in Kućan Marof. At the time, the market was not yet ready for IPA, but #FeelTheHops story could as well be introduced by a nice, hoppy ale.
And that's how our first beer was born - American pale ale, or simply APA, a beer style representative of the new wave of breweries in the USA during the '70s (the most significant representative of the style being Sierra Nevada Pale Ale). To keep things simple, we decided to combine the name of our company with the style of beer - Nova Runda APA. This is why people in pubs often just order Nova Runda. The main characteristic of this beer is Citra hop, which gives APA a nice, citrusy aroma, as well as pleasant bitterness and a fine dry taste. Since new consumers aren't familiar with the flavour of American hops, the specific citrus note often reminds them of elderflower. But it's just hops, trust us.

Sampled at swaff 2018. Thnx for sharing. Everyone ! Pours bit unclear amberblonde. Small white head. Smell is fruity. Orange like. Taste is sharp. Bit bitter. Orange like fruityness. Not very bitter. Easy drinking. Quite enjoyable.

Draft at Punkt in Zagreb. Golden color bright white head. Floral stonefruit aroma. Taste has light fruit light herbs light bitterness. Very tasty.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ Swafff 2018. Orange amber, small white. Nose is orange peel, pine grapefruit, yoghurt, low plaster. Taste is dull chalky, hay, powder, bland, grain, low yoghurt, rather meh, surprised by the very high score here.

On tap at ALL IN, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is subdued, with foreign alcohol and piney hops upfront, with a crisp biscuity malt backbone. Flavour follows suit, with bitter floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Finishes dry and fairly bitter. Okay.

Draught. Hazy orange color, with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruit and other fruity hops. Taste is moderate malty, fruity, something exotic too, some spices. Bitter finish, nice and long aftertaste. Moderate carbonation. Nice beer.

On tap @American bar Dollar, Varaždin. Hazy copper body with one finger frothy off-white head. Nicely balanced nose, malty, hoppy, slightly herbal. Thin to medium body, average carbonation. Light texture, very easy drinking. Mildly bitter taste, slight tartness showing up later on. Dry mouthfeel. Aroma medium malty, medium hoppy. Grassy and herbal notes, slight honey, a bit peppery. Finishes dry with lasting mild bitterness. Overall, refreshing and easy drinking. Good one, perhaps lacking in body a bit.
