Mid-brown in colour. Well rounded easy drinking, with a pleasant bitterness.

Cask at Victoria Inn, Derby (not yet listed in RateBeer). Pours a slighgtly reddish mid-brown and a medium sized cream head. Malts ot the fore in the aroma, and they are present again in the mouth. But the dominant sensation is is a slight sourness and flavour of rotting fruit. After a while some traditional hops show through, plus traces of corn and nuts. Finish is somewhat dry. This beer may have been “off”, but I’ve had Leatherbritvches beers that tasted weird before. A rerate is probably needed. PS first rate of this beer for 8 years !

Cask at Y Not Festival, Derbyshire. Traditional old English bitter that’s as underwhelming as it is completely forgettable. It doesn’t actually taste bad, just feels like a standard ’table’ beer.
