The crackling magic of Chevallier Heritage Malt courses through this English-style barleywine. A combination of bourbon, brandy, and VSOP cognac barrels cast a spirited spell over the brew and mix to manipulate space and time, opening a viscous liquid portal into what surely must be immortality.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a dark black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is candi sugar and bourbon. Slick body, licorice, caramel, candi sugar, brandy, wood, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

50cl bottle pours with a deep chocolate mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up fruity jammy boysenberry chocolate yum moving into soft oak nuanced plum like cognac. The taste delivers rich intense flavors of boysenberry and blueberry jam blended with chocolate and molasses. To midway it picks up soft smooth inviting cognac mixed with sweet slick malts and bourbon that's perfectly balanced with the other rich decadent beer notes. Wow. The body is insanely full for a barrel aged beer. Amazing rich nectar like sipper. How is there so little sense of the massive ABV?  What.

Power tasting at Salesforce, 13.59% ABV, release 2019
Dark brown colour. Very nice aroma, nutty malt, caramel, bourbon, light spirit. Sweet, full bodied, rich malt flavour, with loads of bourbon character, some other spirit, sweet nuts, and strong alcohol warmth.
The very strong alcohol twists this and it doesn't seem anymore an English Barleywine, but it's a damn fine brew, hybrid Barley Wine.

500 mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is wonderfully decadent, with lots of bourbon and liqueur barrels upfront, with caramel malt and bready notes. Flavour is decadent and elegant, with a wonderfully mixture of bourbon barrels, brandy and a touch of cognac, with lots of caramel, toffee, and bready malt. Finishes with bourbon, molasses and toffee. What a beauty.
