A malty harmony of dark chocolate, espresso and dried fruit notes, aged in freshly retired oak bourbon barrels. Aimed squarely at stout aficionados, Black Note makes a grand statement about the art of the dark. This version is aged with Madagascar vanilla beans for a sweeter, creamier twist.

Bottle from Mug N Jug. Pours a pitch black with a small beige head that dissipates. Roasty malt nose with prune, raisin, wafer, cacao nib, treacle and vanilla bean aromas present. Vanilla and roasted malt on the palate with some lingering wood, faint bourbon and more sweet marshmallow-like vanilla. Lingering alcohol and wood on the palate with vanilla bean under the roasted malt notes.

Bottle shared by Jack, thanks! Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of dark grains, roasted malts and vanilla with a bourbon bite. Flavor has a chocolate and vanilla combination with dark grains and a bourbon backbone.

Bottle - viscous deep black pour - heavy vanilla sweetness settles into deep notes of bourbon, charred oak, bitter chocolate, smoke - as the vanilla settles into these qualities, it creates the cozy sensation of toasted marshmallow - smooth, with completely masked alcohol - nicely done.
