Bottle at home, 12/12/15. Lightly hazed orange amber with a well appointed beige cap that retains till the curtain call. Nose is melon, tangerine, toasted bread, red grapefruit, light pine, floral notes. Taste comprises orange pith, melon, light trace of minerals, grapefruit, toasted malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop bitterness in the close. Solid APA, well nuanced and expertly balanced.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Beermerchants. Pours hazy gold with a frothy, pure white head. Great aroma, with notes of tangerine, pine, pithy grapefruit. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry pale bread, more tangerine, some earthy bitterness, rindy orange, biscuits, grapefruit, hints of grass. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish, with further citrusy hops, a drop of resin, nice earthy-grassy bitterness to provide a structured conclusion. Excellent stuff. The hop expression isn’t outrageously vibrant, but it is very nice.

Bottle. Sourced Market, St. Pancras. Hazy, orange gold. Kernel head. Nice fruit. Grapefruit, and some lemon. Orange peel. Soft herb. Taste has little bitterness to start. Light sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel. Bitterness rises toward the end. Fruity job.

Bottle from the brewery@Folks place, Streatham, London - fuzzy golden pour with white head. Tropical and citrus hoppy aroma and taste with lots of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, some herbal hoppy nuance, nice bitter finish. Preferred the IPA Vic secret, but this is still a very nice brew.

From tap at Øst 27.11.15. Cloudy straw colour. Creamy off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma of citrus, pineapple and tropical fruits. Fairly bitter taste of grapefruit, pineapple, papaya and succade. Hints of herbs in long and bitter aftertaste. Good!

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras. Very hazy dirty gold brown colour. I mean its not attractive. Floral citrus aroma. Quite a light flavour. Some chocolate lime. Odd. Decent carbonation. Some bitterness on the finish. A rather lovely light flowery aroma and flavour and finish. Hard to pin down other than to say light flowers. Oddly attractive. Not the best Kernel pale ale but definitely interesting.

Bottle at home split with Sarah picked up at the brewery 2 days ago. Heavy hazed dull orange coloured pour with lasting white froth. Aroma is spicy citrus, some nelson sauvin like notes, mango and tropical notes and a pithy edge. Flavour is composed of light white bready malts, grainy, orange rind, little chive, spicy citrus. This bottle is maybe a little too young, wish i’d sat on for a few more days. A little yeast bite in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, moderate to low carbonation, a little yeasty / meaty.

Very hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry and a light fine crispness. Light malts, thin creamy sweetness. The Victoria’s Secret hops bring a variety of characteristics with nothing really dominating. Mild hops skunk, sweetish pine, a whisper of Apollo like garlic. Mild tangerine citrus and yellow grapefruit. Mild hop spice. Trace of lime and then a more floral pine. Semi dry finish. Bitterish linger. Nice complexity here and with the normal Kernel quaffability!
