Bottle picked up from a Sulzberger Bierhaus Pffafenhofen an der Ilm had this at home Sunday 13th November 2022, cooking a Lamb Tagine and also a Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne with Pine Nuts whilst Loz cooks a Mousakka and makes bread, listening to a great show on 6Music with Gideon Coe and Kathryn Williams listening to old archived music in the BBC collection. Pours warm gold with a large white head that gradually receded. The aroma carries with it a little spice and herbal note, I guess typically Belgian. This simple spicy yeastyness provides a little bit of interest to an otherwise simple but pleasant Belgian beer albeit the Belgian take on an IPA. Of course there is a little bitterness and decent fruity bite but otherwise it's pulling more from the Belgian Golden Ale territory, nice carbonation, good sipper, pleasant beer.

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy copper pour, three finger frothy off-white head, long lasting. Lots of lacing on the glass. Mild on the nose, fruity and herbal notes, floral, slightly perfumy. Light to medium body, lively carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, somewhat fizzy, lightweight, easily drinkable. Balanced bittersweet taste, some sour notes in the background. Aroma of sweet malt, herbs and spices, pine and citruses. Yeast. Well hidden alcohol. Short to medium lasting finish, slightly dry, mild bitterness. Average.

One of Silke’s 50. Amber with a frothy to creamy white head. Aroma full of tangerines. Candy underneath. Taste is moderate bitter with a sweetened, citric twist. Finishes mildly sweet with lingering lichee and citrus. Too sweet to be a traditional IPA, but still pleasant drinking.

33cl Fles van De Laat. Iets troebel goudgele kleur, witte kraag.

Can. Clear orange pour. Aroma of yeast esters, orange, grapefruit and bready malt. Taste has creamy orange, lots of yeast esters, bready malt, grapefruit and some herbs. What was I thinking, of course this coming from Belgium means it's yeasty and sweet. Another ipa failure from the Belgians.
