Library, Santa Monica tap: Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is coffee and much of it, with a few hints of chocolate. Taste is way more coffee than most beers provide. Body is pretty light when push comes to shove. I agree with previous commentators who said that this could use more malts and body. That said, the favors that were there were quite good.

Draft @ Naja’s Place, Redondo Beach, CA. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty fresh coffee aroma. Roasted malty coffee flavor with hints of chocolate. Has a roasted malty coffee finish.

On tap. Pours with a black hued body with a lasting tan head and some lace. Aromas are of coffee, roast, earth, asphalt, nutty and chocolate. Roasted grain character is mild. Clean fermentation wise, no hop aromas either. Flavors are roasty, nutty, coffee and earthy. A bit of a biscuity malt character as well. Coffee is there, but not as insane or vibrant as some other coffee porters out there (I guess this might be more balanced...or muted). Medium bubbles, fuller body.
