Lager - Czech Pilsner / Světlý Regular Out of Production
Score
5.25

Perfectly balanced bitterness, a result of Czech hops, is what is best about this beer.
The taste is exceptionally malty, thanks to the two types of malt we use when brewing Bastard.
While each sip gives you the pleasant feeling of warming alcohol and perfect taste.

30/XI/14 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2014-1453) Thanks to Marijaguar for the bottle!

Clear golden beer, big creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: grains, hay, cow fodder, little fruity, some banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, bitter, bit sweet, hay cow fodder. Aftertaste: bitter, grassy touch, some grains. Pretty boring.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden orange with a head that doesn’t hang around too long. Nose - honey and biscuits, then a steely edge. Taste - yeah, metal, crystal malt and honey. Like a hobnob with a piece of metal in it. Palate - light to medium bodied, with a cloying texture and a finish that is mostly astringent. Overall - not my favourite from Czech Republic, that’s for sure.

first of all: IT IS RIDICULOUS TO CALL IT AS ’BOHEMIAN PILSENER’!!! Shame on the manufacturer! regarding the rating: pale golden colour; very minimal white head; aroma of nothing (maybe some cardboard); taste is not a typical bohemian pilsener with some very strange cider-like sourness. HORRIBLE PILSENER, STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED (and I’m very angry because it was more than 3 times more expensive than a Pilsnser Urquel); it was very disappointing in the light of that it is a czech beer

Bottle. Thanks to Larsa! Malty nose with notes of marzipan, vegtables and citrus. The taste has a clean maltiness with a fresh hoppiness in the finish. The alcohol is shown in a quite unpleasant way in the aftertaste.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and minerals. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, minerals, straw, and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish.
