¡Salud!

Crisp and nice copper coloured body with a slight orange glow and a thinnish, off-white head about a single centimetre tall. Aroma of bright grassy and grapefruity hops with a lot of alpha acids noticeable along with some very small sweetness from citrus fruits and a good malt backbone to support the hops. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavours dominate with a definite citrusey quality and some piney, resinous notes that bring out the bitterness from the hops, ending with a light sweetness from fruits at the end, but this (as it should be) is all about the bitterness. Aftertaste is rich from the hop bitterness with a lot of grassy notes, some flowers and a good bite from the hops, with enough support from the malt and no real sugars at the finish, but enough to be robust and balanced. Overall, a surprisingly nice, older school (read: real bitter) IPA that hits the marks nicely for the style, especially in this location and a good option considering the options. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Wong [grocery store] in Miraflores, Lima, Peru on 03-August-2022 for S./10,90 sampled on the streets of Lima, Peru with my wife and three kids on 05-August-2022.

12oz bottle I brought back from Lima is a clear gold with some tight white head. Nose has some grass, straw, a little couch, some coriander (not in a good way). Flavor has white pepper, potpourri, light corn, straw. Finishes spritzy. Could be an old bottle, could just be poorly done.
