At the January 2026 DC Brewver gathering. Bottle. Poured a fizzy orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was tart citrus, with herbal notes, some grape. Some mild herbal character, with a spritzy, tart finish.

75cl pours a light haze over a gold body. Ring of white head. Earthy nose, herbs, flowers, malt, some neutral barrel. Flavor has honey and lemon and some horsey and green grape. Finishes off dry, medium full bodied.

0.75 l bottle from 'Het Huis van de Geuze', 5% abv, bottled in October 2024. Very hazy, orangeish golden with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, sourish, rather fruity-floral, slightly funky aroma of overripe lemon, peach, hay, gooseberry and some horse blanket. Slightly sweet, gently sour, rather fruity-floral, quite funky taste of overripe lemon, gooseberry, peach, hay, horse blanket and a touch of white pepper, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite tart, moderately woody-dry finish. Medium body, gently astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Highly refreshing brew, a little sweeter than a pure lambic and with a bit more bite, maybe a little less complex. I like these 'versnijbieren' a lot.

750mL bottle at the International Geuze & Kriek festival. Pours hazy blonde with a white head. Old wood, slightly floral nose. Flavour has Brett, old dry wood, slightly tart. Not my favorite.

Towering, dense, whipped eggwhite-like white head, leaving lots of lace over veiled pale golden beer. Very fine floral & leafy lambic nose with horseblanket, farmyard, springblossoms, honeyish & lactic notes, lilacs, a spicy whiff. Floral and even more springblossom, honeyish flavours, the citrus tending to citrusflower. Bit citrussweets too, however, pineapple. Finish is not as dry as expected, and carrying light sulphur. Medium bodied, slick, almost overcarbonated. Great beer, but. Bottle, reliefprint, NAME, cork, just EVERYTHING hints that it ought to be classified @ Lindemans, not @ Varenbroek. Txs to Stef!
