Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is strong fudge, caramel, vanilla, chocolate dessert, dark malt, roast, mocha, alcohol. Flavour is quite sweet with a firm roasty bitterness and some salty notes. Body is full with a sticky feel. Boozy. A liquid dessert Stout alright, but not the most refined one. Okay at best.

Near opaque dark brown beer small, with a largeish but short lived tan head. Palate is smooth and and semi dry and perhaps a little thin for the style, reasonable fine carbonation. Slightly thin dark malts, reasonable dark chocolate. The Pedro Ximinez comes through loud and clear but not that sweet. Milder rum barrel on the back end. Some esters kicking about. Surprisingly the salted caramel takes some searching for but it's there if well buried. Finishes light and semi dry with the PX and modest salted caramel coming together well. First few sips of this, I thought it was a mess, but as the palate adjusts and adapts, it reveals its delights. Nice.

It is exactly as advertised. Salted caramel, vanilla, etc. Thick and bold. But exactly done at they want. No flaws. Gollem proefokaal ams

Bottle from Geers, Oostakker. Pours cloudy black with an unstable, frothy, beige head. Aroma of brownie dough, caramel sauce, vanilla cream, mocha, salted caramel, hazelnut & peanut. Taste has heavy sweet brownie, chocolate & caramel sauce with a pinch of salt, some bitter chocoloate powder underneath, touch of vanilla too. Ends malty, salty, lingering brownie & chocolate with just a dash of earthy hops & warming cream liqueur-like alcohol. Full body, creamy, slightly syrupy texture, soft carbonation. A bit more balanced towards 'pastry' than 'stout', this 2020 edition could have benefited from a more 'hard' roastedness, but the blend is tasty of course.

30/V/20 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: XII/2039 (2020-448)
Clear dark brown beer, big fizzy aery irregular beige head, turns into some weird big greasy bubbles, what the hell is this? Falls down quickly, leaving a greasy layer of beige pieces of slime on the surface of the beer. Aroma:vanilla, caramel, crème brûlée, sugary, milk chocolate. MF: soft to no carbonation, medium to full body. Taste: pretty sweet, lots of dark caramel, soft roast, pretty bitter, alcohol, more caramel. Aftertaste: lots of caramel, crème brûlée, soft roast, chocolate. Very nice beer, except for the looks of it. :-)
