Way back in his university days, Head of Sales Arron made a little bit of extra cash on the side by spinning turntables at parties. After mentioning it in passing in the brewhouse, it piqued our interest and we asked if there was any evidence remaining of his record spinning abilities. A file was presented within our brewery WhatsApp group labelled “An Original Mix!” and lo, a beer name was once again born at Polly’s. Our original mix is a seamless beat-matching of Galaxy, Mosaic, Chinook and Citra for an all out hop assault on the senses. Stone fruit, juicy tropical notes, and bags of citrus flavours are abound in this hyped up IPA.

Uklar lys gulbrun med hvitt skum. Lukter sitrus og mildt av ananas. Noe tørr i munnfølelse. Grapefrukt og tropiske frukter i smak.

Keg at Anchor Tap, Croxley, Hertfordshire. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, mango, tropical fruit taste/aroma. Nice bitterness throughout, decent IPA.

Tap. The Lyric Soho. Soupy gold. Lively white foam. Served way too warm. Not far off room temperature. Yuk. It’s your typical hop custard. Pretty harsh bitterness. High carbonation. Nah.

Tap@Taphouse 8th Birthday week rotating multi TTO (30/04/2022) - hazed opaque yellow with a white head. Juicy fruity with waves of stonefruit goodness, succulent juicy nectarine and mango, peach, some lemony and grapefruit citrus notes coming through, soft dense sweet malty backing, robust hoppy finish. Drinks so well, lovely stuff.

Keg at the Two Tailed Lion, Leicester, 08/10/21. Murky orange with a good sized off white cap. Nose is ripe citric flesh, pineapple, sweet tropciana, papaya. Taste comprises grapefruit, mandarin, citric slushy, grass, soft malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy hop bitterness. Decent.

Draught keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Light to mid-yellow/golden, hazy as can be with a tiny white head. A light tropical fruit aroma with notes of grapefruit. I expected to get a sweet taste and got a bittersweet favouring the bitter. The sweetness is more than matched by an intense bitter hop note. More tropical fruit headed toward the finish. Silky body, low to medium carbonation. It's a well-crafted juicy beer that ticks all the boxes.

Can, 6.4%. Good citric aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Good stable creamy white head. The flavour is fruity and juicy. Quite bitter, but not so sweet that it is balanced. Still good, juicy and refreshing. Well-balanced.

Can. Pours cloudy lightish straw with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of hops, citrus and yeast, with notes of malt and touches of fruit. Bitter, hoppy and grassy flavour with fruity (mango? pineapple?) and estery notes and malty touches. Bitter and citric aftertaste with touches of yeast and hints of malt. Well-balanced and really nice. Not very sweet, despite the fruity nuances. Good work, Polly.
