Foeder Cerise is a sour golden ale brewed with a mix of brettanomyces and several different souring cultures. We then age it for 6 months on top of Montmorency Cherries. The flavors produced are sour cherry and cinnamon with a touch of Brett funk. This batch comes from our 30bbl Italian oak Foeders.

Bottle from Goblet, as an extra (thanks!). 2017 vintage, 6%. Murky muddy brown body, traces of an off white head. Excellent aroma, beautiful Maraska-style cherry brandy, vinegar, soft maltiness, underlying funk. Kraš Griotte almost even. Lean, tart taste, obvious, pleasant sour cherry note, clean, light, a bit salty. Honestly expected a bit more oomph from it, but it's genuinely tasty. Solid balance, genuinely good sour!

Acidic, aceto or other vinegar. Aroma begins to resemble a cherry cake. Moderately sour, very fruity and juicy. Very sour cherry. Lemon. A touch of cocoa, earth and malts. Slick soft, softer carbonation, sour finish.

375ml bottle [6.0% abv]. Hazy, reddish brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, pink-ish, off-white head. Tart-ish, fruity, earthy aroma, notes of cherry, morello. Taste is dry, tart, fruity, minimally earthy notes of morello, cherry, hints of lime, lime peel, a tannic touch, a spicy touch of white pepper; lingering tart fruity finish, prickly carbonation. Harmonious, focused - very nice.

Bottle @Luppolo Station (Rome).
