On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa and licorice. Medium body, roast, cocoa, dry finish, good.

My buddy Mr_Native recommended this beer to me, calling it his favorite porter. Since I haven’t made it back to Naked City in forever, I always hoped I would just run into it sometime. A year later, that time is now. Draft pour pint at the Pine Box. Pours jet black with a cream tan foam head. Very nice roasted aroma. Flavor is creamy vanilla sweetness, with a smooth transition to a more robust coffee finish. Has that milk chocolatey, rich flavor that lingers on forever. Sweet like a dessert porter, but has a bold side as well. Very consistent dry cocoa throughout. Exceptional, very enjoyable porter here.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly and laces. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts supported by chocolate and a bit of bitterness. Flavor has a chocolate and roasted malt combination with a bitter dark grain backbone.

Draught at King’s Hardware, Seattle
Dark color, almost black, with creamy head. Nice aroma, intense, with dominating coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, rather dry, with some roasted malt and chocolate flavor, sweeter in the final, with moderate bitterness.

Sample at the brewpub. Dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Chocolate, malt and coffee in the nose. Light to medium body with a roasty malt character with notes of malt and espresso. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap @ brewpub. Dark brown appearance with a creamy, dark brown nose. Roasty, slight charred, chocolate, light espresso nose. A little watery. Char, roasty, chocolate flavor. Reminds me of a watery version of a Scandinavian porter.
