On tap at Bolt brewery in Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. Brewery lists this at 7.2% ABV. Opaque brown color. Small creamy tan head. Faint roasted malt aroma. Sweet roasted malt flavor has lots of chocolate. Some hop bitterness on backend. Tasty.

On tap at Bolt Brewery, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dusty cocoa upfront, with little else. Flavour is along the same lines, with dry cocoa upfront, and medium toasted malt. Powdered and dry. Not bad.

Draught @ Bolt Brewery - Little Italy, San Diego. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, licorice. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate, light licorice, light alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, sweet finish with a litle warming alcohol. 290718

On tap at the brewery pours dark brown with a red highlight. Nose is nice chocolate forward some roast coffee notes. Tatse is more of the nice sweet chocolate with some ash.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Roasted dark malty, breadish. Bitter and roasted. Dry. Toasted and lasting dark malty finish.

On tap at Bolt Little Italy, San Diego. Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Also notes of dark fruit. Fairly mild and kind of basic but an ok one.

Draught (5.9%) @ the brewpub, San Diego. Aroma has coffee and milk chocolate. Flavour has coffee, some semi-dark chocolate and mild ashy tones. Also butter. Grapefruity hop bite in the finish. Feels a bit thin but the coffee aromas are nice.
