The great brewmasters of the Pacific Northwest are reverent of the past and its brewing traditions, but never cease to look forward, tinkering and experimenting to create flavors that are uniquely bold and new. Case-in-point, pFriem’s Blonde IPA—Its refreshing blast of citrus and secret ingredient (sunshine) will have you looking forward to another before even enjoying its just bitter enough finish.

Another winner from pFreim. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A big fruity nose, dank and some biscuit. The flavor is sharp resin, dank fruity hops, sweet honey touched soft biscuit malty base. Pretty balanced. Very smooth and delicious. Awesome beer. So damn smooth.

Slightly hazy golden and light copper coloured body with a very thin, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, brett, coriander seed, curacao and a bit of hops - not too much though. Medium-bodied; Assertive curcao and coriander seed coupled with the light hop note and a lot of yeast. Aftertaste shows more of a grassy and herbal flavour than pine or herbs, but a lot of yeast and coriander seed is noticeable throughout. Overall, a nice beer with a complex profile and not expected for the style, typically. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Zupan’s in Portland, Oregon 02-May-2015 for US$5,99 sampled in my hotel room, two days later in Portland, Oregon on 04-May-2015. Bottled on 21-April-2015.

Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a foamy head. Very nice hoppy aroma. Beer is very true to its name. Lighter body with a lot of flavor and very little bitterness to it. Great summer beer for sure. Great stuff.

On tap at pfriem pub hood river. Pours out a light straw color topped with a long lasting white head. Nose is a great hop mix pine and citrus along with a nice malt. Taste is more of the nice malts and great hop.

Slightly hazy blonde with a fairly big head. Aroma is spicy, lightly piney, lightly fruity, with a dash of pale malt. Lots of bitterness, herbal and dry like pilsner, touch of zwickelbier yeastiness, light floral hops late... Like a jacked up Kout 10... Really cool...seems more like an hommage to those central European hop bombs, only borrowing the IPA name to move a few more pints in the PNW.

2014-07-03, draught at Stateside Craft, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Deep blond color, hazy, with small head. Mild malt and hop aroma, a bit fruity. Soft mouthfeel, moderately sweet, with nice malt flavor, hints of toffee, light-colored caramel, strong hopping, quite fruity and reasonably resiny too.
Nice, because the malts are not heavy and dark.

2013-12-20, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Hazy blond color with compact persistent head. The hop aroma has some animal side. Smooth mouthfeel, dry but nice malt flavor in the background, strong bitterness; the hops are resiny, and a bit fruity and animal.
Good and fresh IPA.

On tap at Urban Family Public House, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, dry biscuity malt, and piney floral hops. Flavour of dry biscuity malts and dry floral hops with a great crispness to it. Tons of depth, with a very dry palate. Extremely drinkable and thirst-quenching. Very delicious stuff!
