Stegmaier Oktoberfest is brewed as a traditional German-style Marzen. It is a deep reddish-brown lager brewed with traditional German malt and hops to give the beer a full toasted character with a touch of sweetness. Aromas of sweet pumpernickel bread make this the ideal beer to welcome in the autumn season.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Virginia Beach. Pours a clear copper color with a foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel malts, candied citrus, toasted malts. The taste is toasted caramel malts, anise, faint fruits, mild hops. Medium bodied. Generic, but solid.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large creamy orange-tan head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was sweet toasted caramel and butterscotch. The flavor was sweetish and tangy toasty caramel, butterscotch and moderate vague fruity hops. There was a faintly vegetal undertone. The finish was long. Fairly full bodied. Ok.

Tart aroma of vinegar and chemicals, acetone. Clear auburn, thin yellow head. Somewhat tart malt, cherries, slightly chemical. Vanilla finish. Not a very good maerzen, poorly executed.

Nice light brown/amber color. A bit of caramel malts and some spicy hops in the aroma. Medium body. Flavor has nice toasted caramel malts, biscuit, earthy hops, and a bit of spice. Decent fest beer.

Bottle. Pours a copper with a reddish hue and a thin head. Aromas are apple juice and malt, but pretty blah. Flavor is sweet and pretty blah.

12 oz bottle from kramer17801; Nose of a light caramel applenote mixed with a bit of diacetyl butteryness; clear amber with a big off-white head; flavor not bad with some fruitiness, caramel sweetness, light spices, but a faint diacetyl buttery note! Not enogh to ruin the beer but I notice it! Must not have rested it quite enough!

NOt very good at all. Light caramel colored. Some malt, and very thin overall. This one was dialed in and lacks the palate and full bodied malt of a higher-quality oktoberfest.

Mild candy aroma yet enjoyable to the olfactory. Hints of tomato sauce and rubber, in a good way. Tannish orange color. Decent carbonation. Creamy finish is not too offensive. Malty and mildly acceptable finish.
