From Feb 2008

I got this bottle in a trade with Grizzly Adams. Thanks Cole!

This one pours a hazy orange-gold with a 1 finger head of foam that doesn't recede much at all and there's some good lacing.

The smell has notes of grapefruit and caramel malt with the hops *just* having the edge.

The taste kind of surprised me. Biscuit and caramel is what I noticed first and then some grapefruit in the background that adds enough bitterness to balance the malt. Nice.

It has a medium mouthfeel and it finishes with a slight grassy bitterness. Quite a nice APA with more than ample portions of malt and I like where this one went. I'd definitely drink this again as it is a good beer all around.

I thot I tasted this before, but no-here goes. Looks like a mild hefe in the glass. A mild piercing hoppy floral aroma. Leathery medium hop dull bite, seems like less than 5 abv. Yes, side back of throat bitter thing happening as the session continues. On style for an apa, but sometimes I think this brew is trying to run up to the pack of eye pah.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow-golden color with a small foamy off white head. The aroma was sour, tangy, faintly floral and had a light fruity hop presence. The flavor was bitter, tart and dry with moderate floral hops. Medium length dry floral hop finish. Medium body. Eh.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange/gold in color with a thin white head that left some spotty lacing. Piney in aroma and taste. Dry, crisp, and bitter with just a hint of sweetness. A very hop forward APA... but I like it!

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy, burnt orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of crisp citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is medium bitter. Pine and citrus with a good dose of grapefruit. Medium bodied with a somewhat slick texture. Lively carbonation and a very very long finish. Overall, pretty darn good. I’ll be happy to drink this again, but I want to try it a little fresher.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of a mix a six at the Festival in Onalasaka, Wisconsin. Jul bottled on notched on the label. The pour is a lightly hazed orange golden with a one inch light tan head. The aroma is dank, light orange citrus, floral and general dusty bitterness. The taste is a nice blend of dank floral herbal hops and toasted lightly sweet malt. Crisp clean taste. The palate is light to medium bodied, clean, with a slight mineral dry finish. Dank, bitter earthiness lingers nicely. Tasty one, I enjoyed this.

Orange with a white head. Aroma has a nice hops profile, floral, pine, light sweet citrus. Medium body. Flavor is full of hop goodness. Floral, citrus, light pine, and a bit of background sweet malts. Finish has a bit of a hard hop bite. Real nice Pale.

12 ounce bottle from Steve’s Mineral Point in Madison, WI. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Nice floral hop aroma with some faint resin and caramel. The taste is bitter herbal and floral hops, some apple notes and a toasty malt finish. Medium bodied. Nice pale.

Draft at the Old Fashioned. Light filtered gold-yellow color. Earthy bitterness, but nothing that would phase a hophead. Tastes like a Flagship beer to me, middle of the road stuff. Well balanced, but lacks depth. Solid but subdued.
