Bottle from Geers. Aroma of liquorice, espresso, old walnut, tobacco, fondant, tree bark. Taste has sweetish & slightly sourish fig, prune & blackberry over a dark-chocolatey malt base with spicy & herbal notes, bitter diluted espresso. Earthy hops in the finish, lingering liquorice, coffee bean and warming vodka-like alcohol. Still a decent Belgian Imperial Stout, but lacks some structure and to quote the description, robustness.

Original rating: 8/8/8/8/8=8.0. At Brugs Bierfestival, 3 February 2018. Cheers to Anke, Ian, Kevin & Jerre!

Cloudy black with a small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of coffee roast, roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, some cream, hops & spices. Tastes medium malty/chocolatey sweet with creamy edges, then light to medium toasty bitter; hoppy finish with bourbon alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite to my taste.

Taste: sweet start, pretty roasted, lots of dark chocolate, sweet, caramel, ripe banana, some coffee. Aftertaste: bitter touch, bit hoppy, nice roast, little sweet.

Thanks for sharing! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2017. Black mocha head. Nose is extremely liquorish, chemical, burned coffee grounds,… Extremely vegetable burned coffee, liquorice, bitter, chemical dry burned syrup body. Not a good RIS for me.

Pours very dark, u clear brown, neary black. Small off white head. Smell is roasty, dry, bit plastic ( to much burnt malts ) taste is sharp, dry, plastic notes, too much roastyness, yet with a nice backbone of other malts. God mf, low carbo. Decent complexity. Slightly tweak the maltbase, and there might be a good beer out of this.

Bottle from Deconinck, Vichte. Pitch black colour, brown foam. Syrupy beer. Lots of roasted malts and coffee in aroma. Taste is sweet (some notes of dried fruit and caramel), bitter roasty and notes of cocoa. Well balanced. Very nice beer!
