Ragnarok is our version of a Belgian quadruppel. The beer is brewed with orange peel and exotic sugar and has hints of oak, apple and dried fruit.

Ragnarok er vår versjon av belgisk kvadruppel, der ein omstendeleg gjæringsprosess og lagring på eikefat gjev styrke og smakskarakter utanom det vanlege. Ølet er brygga med appelsinskal og eksotiske sukkerartar og har eldfulle ekko av eik, eple og tørka frukt. Fint å nippe nennsamt til – og smakfullt selskap for smakfulle kjøtrettar og skarpe ostar

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is caramel malt, toffee, nuts, almonds, dried fruits, raisins, syrup, candied prunes, spicy notes, mild oak, vanilla, with some alcohol. Flavour is quite sweet and syrupy. Body is full. Way too sweet for its own good, but aroma is nice, resulting in a decent slow sipper.

Keg at Borefts Day 1 22/09/2017. A deep reddy plum,, mahogany brown coloured pour. Aroma is plummy fruit, red berries, woody, toffee, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of musty jam, very sweet, sticky woody. Palate is sticky, very sweet, jammy, moderate carbonation, chewy.

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark brown colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and fruity aroma, notes of caramel, dark caramel, dried dark fruit, raisin, sultana, prune. Taste is sweet, caramel malty and yeasty fruity, notes of caramel, dark caramel, dark fruit, raisin, sultana, prune, some mandarine, orange peel, some alcoho, some hop bitternessl; lingering, sweet and minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Dissolved sugar enriched, almost viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft carbonation. Quite sweet, still balanced, some fresh, citrusy aspects, some hop bitterness, relatively well hidden alcohol - good.

Buddel (..wahrscheinlich aus Garching oder so!): Often-used-dishwater-like colour, no head to speak of, heavy sweet caramelly and fruity nose with a slight mineralic and boozy background, a heavy duty to detect any bitterness...; full bodied, sticky, solid sweet flavour, bitterness like above; mild but robust sweet caramelly and vinous finish with a slight alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Who needs a DIPA, when You get such a liquid fruit-cake...

Well stored bottle. Clear amber body with a moderate sized beige head. Aroma has caramel malt, dry fruit and quite much alcohol. Taste is very sweet caramel malt, dry fruit and warming alcohol. Full bodied and long lasting, sweet and vinous finish. Not super complex, but less boozy than expected. Decent sipper inn smaller amounts.

Bottle, at Ølfestivalen, Nærbø. A lightly hazy amber colored beer topped by a small beige head. Sweetish, alcoholic aroma with a good fruityness. Caramel, dried fruits and brown sugar. Hints of plums too. It's full-bodied, warming and soft on the palate, quite sugary sticky. Sweet flavor with alcohol, caramel, dried apricot, generic dried fruits, brown sugar, plums and a touch of wood. Lasting finish with lots of sweetness and a good dash of alcohol and caramel. Overall, way too sweet this one, still delicious though. There's lots of alcohol all the way, but not in an annoying way. 171021
