Courtesy of Giovanni Marconi of Compagnia del Luppolo; this bottle and Bov’s/Allen’s are the 2008 version, different from the original one
The bottle is a gusher; it pours a cloudy dark amber color, obviously with a big head. Malt, caramel and chocolate aroma, slightly oxidised. It has a good body strength, with very good caramel flavor, bold, some malt; the bitterness is not too high, and in the final there is some evident alcohol warmth. A solid brew from De Graal, very good, if it was not for the gushing effect; it seems that the bottle I gave to Bov was completely different…

Bottle Deep amber body. Slightly hazy. Lightly brown, frothy head. Mostly diminishing head. Very interesting aroma of malts and hops, liquors, port, ... Very complex and pleasant aroma. Lightly sour, moderately bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Quite complex flavour. Very nice and well balanced.
