Bevog Fest 17. Overpowering hemp smell, some fruit, some grains, not much else going on.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours slight pale gold with medium white foam. Aroma is sweet, of grain, but also of herb. Knowing the recipe, hemp is evident at the nose. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is relatively sweet, with very limited bitterness. Finish is kind of short.

Thank you for sharing tderoeck & Bierridder_S. Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Hedonis Ambachtsfest 2017. Ugly amber, soapy near pink head. Nose is unpleasant plaster, soap, weak medicinal spoiled, muted. Taste is fizzy, grain, cleaning products, medicinal products, Iso-Betadine finish,… Fizzy Iso-Betadine, medicinal body. I was not a fan of the BA version but it was a lot better than this, these medicinal notes are totally off-putting for me.

At Hedonis Ambachtsfest. I've encountered these Serbian craft beers by Kabinet in Ghent before (Afsnis, to be more precise), apparently they have some kind of link with the city... This is an APA spiced with hemp, shared by Craftmember, cheers! Dense, snow white, stable head over a lightly hazy warm golden beer. Aroma of freshly cut green garden weeds which I suppose has to represent the hemp, fresh lettuce even, lemon zest, cereals. Spritzy onset, clean and restrained fruitiness, apple peel note, quite lively carbonation, slick cereally and lightly bready malt body, aromatic, very herbal (almost 'green') finish in which the hops and the hemp, which are coincidentally botanically related to each other, fight for attention; some dried citrus peel impressions linger afterwards. Technically correct APA, but I'm not the biggest fan of other spices in beer than hop I must admit, and this one did not quite do it for me - I guess the intention was to evoke marijuana in a legal way, but I don't see the point in doing so if the female flowers of this plant species, where marijuana is made from, are not allowed to be used - I am therefore left wondering which part of the plant was used here, perhaps the leaves?

Clear orange beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: bit soapy, grains, fruity touch, malty. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very buttery, diacetyl, sweet touch, malty, grains, soft bitterness, lots of all-brann. Aftertaste: grains, cow fodder, bitter, more all-brann.
