On tap at Toad in the Hole. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread and earthy grains with a touch of grass underlying. Flavor has bread throughout with touches if earthy grain and grass.

Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen. Bof.

Poured from the tap. Clear copper brown with minimal white head. Mild caramel malt, metallic with some bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Goes down very watery with no finish. Boring.

This Pale ale poured a medium amber colour with a big, frothy, very light tan head. To the nose there are scents of bread, grassy hops and cream. First sip had a deliciously creamy mouthfeel with flavours of caramel and grassy hops. Finish was lightly bitter with hay flavours lingering.

Why does the oldest "original" pale ale in BC have to taste so bad? Had a good many pitchers of this back in the day in Vancouver and remember thinking it was better than Molson at least, and it was. But that’s pretty much it. Pours amber-like, smells like trashy malt. Taste is astringent. Not sure if it’s hops or chemico-hops. Trying their hardest to be macro. Bottle.

Originally rated May 2005. Pours an amber colour with not head, and hardly any retention. The nose is quite hoppy with hints of weet malt. Very light carbonation. Watered down mouthfeel. Good malt flavour and hops in the brew, but not a keeper.

(bottle) clear light amber with small light brown head; aroma of fruit; full flavoured (mostly malt notes) with long light bitter finish
