16 oz can dated 25-Nov-2021. Caramel amber pours with small particles and an off-white head. Toasty malty caramel, honey biscuit aroma, citrus grassy hops. Toasty caramel malty flavor, a bit oxidized, kind of touching on toffee or molasses with some citrusy herbal hops. Alcohol helps to underscore the hops. A very nice barley wine.

Bouteille 341ml sous le nom Ale de Hardy. De couleur ambrée foncée et claire. Nez de caramel toffee sucré aux notes terreuses, moyen de fruits (petits fruits confits), léger d’épices et de houblon herbeux aux notes terreuses avec des notes d’alcool et quelques traces boisées. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse et aux petites sirupeuses. Moyen-léger goût fruité sucré (petits fruits confits) avec un léger goût épicé et quelques traces de fumée de bois lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de caramel toffee sucré, légèrement terreux et aux faibles notes rôties. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve un léger goût d’alcool aux petites notes réchauffantes jusqu’en finale où une légère amertume de houblon herbeux aux notes terreuses s’y rajoute. Post-goût moyen-long, composé d’un goût résiduel sucré de toffee terreux avec une légère amertume d’alcool doux et de houblon herbeux ainsi qu’un très léger goût fruité.

Aroma has sweet malt and toffee. Flavour has toffee candy, some menthol tones. Hides the ABV well. A bit mellow, could have been better as fresh.

Pours a clean deep amber colour with a creamy beige head, good retention and beautiful lacing. Aromas of cherries with lots of dark fruits (raisins, dates, etc) and sweetness all-around. The taste shows the dark fruit, but not as sweet as expected, and nicely balanced with the hop dryness. Hints of nuttiness, caramel, coffee. Was not expecting this to be this good. Now I know why this one is a regular brew for this brewery.

355ml bottle (thx, JC!) shared with George. Pours a clear dark amber with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, fruity. Taste is very sweet, caramel, fruity, slightly malty. Too sweet for me, but still interesting.

Bottle from Saveur Biere. Hazy brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and a little alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with a little warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 271017

341ml bottle. Pours a hazy chestnut brown with a light beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, stone fruit, alcohol. Taste follows nose, with toffee, syrup, burnt brown sugar, plum. Finish is sweet and boozy.

0,341l bottle at home. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells of pines, resin, caramel, candy, mango, marzipan, bit parfumy. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of pines, resin, caramel, oranges, spices, marzipan, mango, some candy. finishes lightly sweet with notes of resin, oranges and spices. quite lovely stuff, great balance, not too sweat and alcohol very well hidden.
