Good bye, Canada. Letztes Bier in Canada. Cereal, grassy, decent malte and a good bitterness.

Bottle at Chez Sophie in Sept Iles Quebec Bready grainy a bit sweet with some faint hops. For a pilsner this needs more hops!

This pils poured a clear yellow with a quick living, white head. Scents include light corn and malt. First swing was slightly watery with flavours of corn And malt with a little hop finish that is slightly bitter. Not the worst pils ever made.

Some poutine place: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is grass, grain, a bit of hops, and some bread. Taste is sweet. Texture is a tad oily, which also lends itself to being more full-bodied. Was a good way to wash down poutine, but aside of that...

Kind of saazy. Gold with some malt, some crisp finish. Had a pint of this at a sweet jazz bar and it’s a good thing the music was better than this. Tap.

Bouteille 341ml.

Originally rated July 2005. Belle Gueule brews are nothing out of this world, but for a light decent beer, easy to find around here in the convenient stores (Quebec), I prefer their products over Boréale (Blanche and Noire being the exceptions). Pours a golden colour with a big white head. Retention is average, lacing as well and carbonation is quite active. The scent is hoppy, probably Saaz. Mouthfeel is mildly creamy. The start of the taste is of grain malt and finishes on a slight bitter note. The aftertaste is mix of both. This one is a decent Canadian Pils-style, close to my favorite, the Steam Whistle. Note: Nowadays, I prefer Boréale beers over Belle Gueule ones (but their pilsner is the better of all their trio).

Aroma of soft hops, malts, little else. Boring gold body, little head. Flavour is smooth with okay hops hints, and a mild finish. It’s an okay pilsner, and unexceptional.
