Produced with a blend of six malts and roasted barley this drink has a complex flavour. The hint of fruitiness comes from adding the hops late in the brewing process and is balanced by the malty chocolate and toffee flavours. This is a smooth, well balanced version of an old classic.

500ml bottle @ 4.7%. Black with small beige head, nice circular retention and some lacing. Roasted malts, coffee and chocolate aroma. Taste is the same but at session strength, quite sweet, moderately-smooth and average carbonation. Bitter coffee bean finish. Quite nice, not an overly complex stout but well made.

Bottle at 4.7% that my lovely wife bought me at the Bicester Garden Centre - very pleased to get given an all-too-rare Worcestershire rate! It's an opaque dark brown beer with a beige head and a slightly too aggressive fizz. There's lots of chocolate, liquorice, a mild roastiness and a touch of creamy coffee, with a dryish finish. It's a pretty pleasant stout, although I'm personally never a fan of liquorice.
