Produced with a blend of six malts and roasted barley this drink has a complex flavour. The hint of fruitiness comes from adding the hops late in the brewing process and is balanced by the malty chocolate and toffee flavours. This is a smooth, well balanced version of an old classic.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - opaque black with an attractive cream head. Nose - toffee, nuts and light chocolate. Light smoke. Taste - toffee, chocolate and nuts. Persistent treacle. Massive nuts on the end. Palate - close to medium bodied with creamy yet dry texture and a dry balanced finish. Overall - should this be a dry stout?basement aromas,

Bottle at home 11.07.13 picked up at The Hop Pocket, Bishops Frome last weekend Pours very dark brown with a small light tan head, the nose is quite roasty. Taste follows on from the nose i.e. predominantly roasty, in fact its quite a dry, ashy, tangy stout, very little sweetness. Its a reasonable stout. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
