This is the lager we always wanted to make at Fell. We use a brilliant, bottom-fermenting yeast from Germany alongside classic lager malt and Czech Saaz to produce a lager in the Bavarian Helles style. Conditioned for 30 days.

Keg at Fell Bar, Penrith. Hazy gold with a white head and a light fizz. Plenty of grassy hops, some light buttery malts and a touch of lemon. Soft mouthfeel with a dry, crisp finish and a moderate bitterness. Assertively hopped for the style but still recognisably a helles. Decent.

Can from Tebay services. It pours lightly hazy yellow - gold with a thick, frothy white head. The aroma is grass, straw, hay, lightly herbal, spice, minty edge, dough and some cornbread. The taste is crisp, dry, grassy, lightly herbal, bitter - sweet, quite green, hint of green veg, touch of grain, soda water, doughy bread, fatty, some grain and cracker with a dry, grassy finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. A pretty alright lagerbier. Ticks the boxes and is rather drinkable.

Can from Drink? Hebden Bridge. Hazy light golden-amber with a carbonation. Certainly European in style, this lager also includes a fruitiness with a juicy enough fizz to this.

440ml can; BB 1st Aug 2020. Drank at home on 28th Nov 2019. Misty golden body, lasting white head. Not much going on aroma or taste wise really, refreshing enough but outstanding attributes that I could find.
