Nine to Five Wizard majors in the classic German Weissbier aromas of banana and clove, layered with New World hop notes of orange, mango, pine and grapefruit. The combination of the Magnum, Cascade, Mandarina Bavaria and Ariana hops give a rising and refreshing citrus complement to the smooth mouthfeel from the wheat and the fruity esters of the Bavarian yeast.

Tap at Craft Room. Hazy, almost murky amber body, redder than usual, guess it's the crystal malt, lasting white head. Taste... phenolic notes from the yeast, a bit chewed up bubblegum. No hops. Taste... phenolic notes again, soft wheat malty backbone, slightly lean, medium to low bitterness... Now, this is a completely okay, drinkable weizenbock, not top class, but something I'd perhaps try again, loving the style usually. But all that talk of hops made me hugely disappointed. They are already gone, nearly completely absent in every way imaginable. And that made me sad. Guess it's just old.

(Draught at BrewDog Kungsholmen, Stockholm, 15 Sep 2017) Hazy golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with bread, banana, citrus, wheat, hints of smoke and some clove. Malty, fruity taste with notes of wheat, bread, toast, estery banana flavours, citrus, clove, hay and a gentle citric bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. A bit unfocused, but quite tasty. Nice one.

Tap at Before 9. Banana and clove wheat weizen nose with a bit of orange and lemon from the hops. Estery, a bit hoppy, peaches, oranges, banana. Ok but not much of a hopfen weisse.

Can, 10C. Murky orange with a loose white head. Bread, oranges, banana, pepper and clove... and just a touch of compost. But it tastes fine with sweet citrus and tropical bubblegum meshing well with more traditional wheat beer elements. Neither the somewhat prominent booze nor the bitterness are overdone. Nearly.

330ml can. Hazy to murky, amber-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Wheaty and spicy yeasty, slightly phenolic aroma, notes of banana, mustard seed, clove, fruity hoppy overtones with hints of orange. Taste is initially minimally tart, spicy yeasty with notes of mustard seed and clove, later sweet-ish wheaty and fruity hoppy, notes of banana and orange, a touch of mango; minimally sticky palate. Unwieldy in a way, unbalanced, somehow more focussed on supplement than centrepiece.
