Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours black with nice sized beige to tanned head. Aroma has a sweet treacle, dark chocolate, dry roasted notes, raisins, a bit dusty. Taste has all the elements you need with caramel, chocolate, coffee, hint of licquorice. There is an undercurrent of dark malts, with a nice bitter finish being part roast and part hoppy. A slight tangy citric element in the finish as well. Medium+ bodied, low to soft carbonation. Its closer to a sweet moreish stout than a big roasty number. There is still enough bitterness to balance. It might not be the most complex stout but it's not that basic either. Enjoyable and tasty.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of liquorice and coffee, chocolate and caramel. Taste is more of the same. Solid stout. Nice to drink one that hasn't some cake or other thrown in it.
