Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt with milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, roast, soft vanilla, mocha, sugar, touch of marshmallow and fudge. Flavour is rather sweet and a bit sugary with a decent roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. Nicely aromatic with coffee, caramel, and chocolate, a bit too sweet and sugary for my taste, but nice.

Аромат неплохой, много кофе и черного шоколада с кислинкой, немного изюма и чернослива. Цвет темный но не чернущий, пенки супер тонкая, тело на визуал очень слабое для таких градусов. Вкус не такой тяжелый как казалось. Тело на вкус весьма водянистое. Ощущается кофе, нотки жженого солода как результат зерна кофе. Пиву очень не хватает лактозы и вообще сладости как его старшему брату.В целом неплохой портер но не более.

Draught@HBF2017. Blackish brown colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is wood, chocolate, some roasted notes as well as mild herbal and floral notes to it. Flavour is roasted malts, some nutty, chocolaty and mild toffee to it. Mild alcohol to it as well.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours black with a small, beige head. Roasty and chocolaty with vanilla, coffee and slightly vinous notes. Sweet, smooth and desserty with well integrated warming alcohol and a moderate bitterness. Smooth and quite delicious.

Bière 33 cl. Robe noire avec mousse quasi inexistante, nez café et légèrement fumé, ça sent le vieux tonneau, la cave, le fût. En bouche, chocolat, vanille, café, côté vineux, brûlé ! Très réussie !

Très sucré, avec ses 11 % la tirant sur le liquoreux et avec une grosse prise en bouche, il est préférable de partager ce Midsummer Melancholy au moins à deux pour ne pas qu'elle devienne écœurante. J'ai été pour ma part incapable de la terminer. Brun foncé quasiment noir en verre avec aucune mousse, pour ce titrage, classique. L'effervescence est très peu poussée. Le nez est sur le café, le chocolat avec une légère pointe de fumé. Grosse présence et longueur en bouche, mais c'est sa lourdeur qui frappe avec un sucre très présent. A l'attaque, une petite amertume réussit à conférer tout de même un peu de fraîcheur. Côté arômes, c'est le chocolat qui prend l'ascendant sur le café, avec un poivre bien présent et une vanille qui se fait bien ressentir en rétro. La texture est très fine. En seconde bouche, la lourdeur se fait bien plus ressentir avec le chocolat qui prend les devants. L’arrière-bouche est quant à elle sur un duo principal chocolat/vanille. Le final, sur un petit élancement présente des arômes de réglisse et légèrement fumés. Pas mon trip
