Svart. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Lakrisaroma. Smaken røkt torv. Lite annet - men grei nok.

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Dissipating fawn-coloured head. Deep dark brown body, clingy lacing. Nicely roasted mid-sweet malty aroma, carefully smoked. Pleasing taste profile of dark malts, prunes, dark bread and ash. Roasted mid-sweet malt-driven tail. Oily texture. Medium to full bodied. Enjoying.

From tap at Fleischer’s Hotel, Voss, with JMD, OGJ, KH and KSS 07.05.16.Ebony. Pale brown head. Aroma of dark malt and creosote. Similar taste, with more smoke and creosote. Balanced with moderate bitterness and dark brittle. Good!

On tap at Café Sara, Oslo. Looks pretty black to me. A small beige head is present on top. Moderate roasty and mild smoky aroma with dark chocolate, dark fruits and hints of coffee. Moderate sweet with nice roasty flavours, a hint of acidity and a somewhat dry finish. Tasty and easy drinking.

On tap @ Bøker & Børst. More than less black body with a nice, lacing beige head. Aroma of dark, roasted malt, chocolate and smoke. Flavor is medium sweet dark, roasted malt with smoke, coffee and hint of citric fruit, moderate bitterness. Fine balanved body and average aftertaste. Nice but not extraordinary smoked porter.

On tap at Bergen Ølfestival. It’s a very dark brown beer topped by a dense, dark beige head of finger-thick size. Some curtains left. Roasted malts, chocolate notes, some coffee, hints of bonfire and citrusy hops in the aroma. The flavor could be a bit more pronounced, but what is there is pleasant, with chocolate and coffee joining the hoppy fruityness in the back and the roasted malts up front. A bit low on bitterness too perhaps. Full body and a tad too much carbonation, quite smooth though. Lasting finish with some licorice and charcoal notes. A fine smoked porter, perhaps a bit forgettable. 140905
