Draft at Shepherd and Knucklehead, Hoboken. Darker reddish color with a thin beige head. Sticky caramel and booze with some go notes. Heavy, cloying malty flavor. Kinda reminds me of all the bad barleywines that use to be everywhere in the early 2010s. Not sure how you can possible call this an Imperial IPA in 2017.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange pour. Large creamy beige head. Sweet fruity malt nose has notes of sweet orange and caramel. Flavor follows the nose with additional notes of tropical fruit hops and dried apricots. Noticeable alcohol notes in middle. Chewy, sticky hops in finish. Interesting.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a red-amber color with a large creamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bitter, perfumey hops and a bit of sweet fruitiness. The flavor was bitter and boozy with fruity hops, some perfume, an herbal presence, underlying sweetness and then more perfume. Very long perfume and herbal hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Booziness grows. Meh.

12 oz. bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a clear bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is pretty sweet, with caramel malts, big resinous hops, and a syrupy quality. Flavour is certainly on the sweet malty side for a IIPA, bordering on cloying sweetness, with lots of resinous hops underneath. Not at all my kind of IIPA - just way too sweet for me. It's not bad though.

A dark clear amber ale with a very thin off white head. Nice floral hops aroma, caramel malt, and light vinous notes. In mouth, a viscous IPA with meaty notes, caramel, floral hops, land light vinous finale, like a barley wine. Nice. Flour City brewfest, August 15 2008.

12oz bottle-pours a rich light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is sweet and bitter citrus-lemon zest, some medium malt. Taste is sweet and bitter citrus-lemon zest, secondary medium malt-caramel/slight burnt, some alcohol. Slick/somewhat syrupy mouth feel. Occasional. Thanks decaturstevo for sharing this.
