Location: 12.7 oz bottle from Winooski Beverage, 8/19/15

Aroma: The nose is roasted and slightly burnt coffee, dark chocolate, and toast/bread
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a thin ring of fizzy brown head
Flavor: The taste is roasty malt, burnt toast, with some bitter chocolate
Palate: Lighter bodied for the style, a little fizzy, finishes kinda dry
Overall Impression: Bottled on 12/4/14, and it says to drink fresh, so maybe it shouldn't be sitting on the shelf in July then. I'd probably be pissed at the store were this an IPA, but not a huge deal for a stout I guess. Never had it fresh, so I don't know how it's changed, but it is holding up well for me with a solid 8+ months on it.

Consumed 2/20/2014 from a 375 ml bottle with a date on the label of 12/4/2014. Very deep brown color with almost no head. Aroma is roasted grains, light chocolate and hints of old coffee.

Flavor shows me about the same as the aroma with a slightly thinner body for a stout. Lingering rye malt with a mild bittering element. Texture is mildly creamy. Overall not bad but at $9.99 for a 375 ml, my money could be better spent on a local stout and get more volume.

Keg at De Cicco’s - Armonk. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. Nice aroma, with nips of roasted malts and dark chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with burnt grains, bittersweet cocoa, mellow earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Light warmth at the end, with more bittersweet cocoa, roast and burnt grains. Good stuff.

Bottle from Bert’s Solid Chocolate brown with a huge bubbly frothy tan head that takes forever to subside. Big cocoa powder with hints of roast and earthy on the nose. Cocoa caramel and roast with a hint of dark fruit and earth on the flavor. Moderate lingering roasted grain bitterness. Very serviceable stout, the rye is incredibly subtle. Serviceable drinkable ale that would be more at home in a 12oz 6 pack than this overpriced fancy bottle.
